Apply god mode, instantly kill enemies, fill your inventory and change your sex in an instant with these cheats.
Fallout 4 is a great game with plenty to offer, but sometimes you want to go a little bit further and mess around with it way more than Bethesda would ever want you to. With the power of the tilde key (~) on PC you will activate the in-game console. And from there, a whole world of cheat commands will alter your game – sometimes for good, sometimes for bad.
To activate the in-game console, press the tilde key on the keyboard, just beside the “1” key in the top left corner. Some keyboards may require the apostrophe key instead, if the tilde doesn’t work.
Tapping tilde will bring up a dark grey console on the lower half of your screen where you can input various commands. These commands will manipulate the game such as kill enemies, add items to your inventory, apply god mode, change sex and more.

WARNING: Some of these commands could be game-breaking, so use with caution and make sure you create save files to revert back to.
Enter the command below for the following cheat. Note: you don’t need to type the brackets when entering a number/ID.
tgm – God mode will make you completely invulnerable.
tcl – No collision with objects will allow you to walk through walls and go anywhere. tai – This turns off the AI. All characters will become immobile, and stand with blank expressions. tcai – Turns off combat AI. Now you don’t have to fight anyone/thing. killall – Kills off everyone in the surrounding area, except for Companions and other important characters, who will need a Stimpak. kill [insert ID] – Kills the creature of the ID indicated. Very useful if you’re struggling with a Deathclaw or other giant beast. resurrect [insert ID] – Resurrects the creature indicated. setgs fJumpHeightMin [insert number] – Modify your jump height based on the inserted number. Higher numbers result in higher jumps but you will still take fall damage. Either make sure you’re wearing Power Armor or enable god mode. player.setav speedmult [insert number] – Speed up your running, based on the inserted number. tfc – Activates the flycam. tm – Toggles the UI and HUD off and on. However, this command will also prevent you from seeing the command console. Press the tilde and type “tm” again blindly to retrieve the UI. This is great for taking screenshots. setscale [insert number from 1 to 10] – Increases the size of your target, or yourself, based on the indicated number. sexchange – Change the sex of your character. player.additem [insert item ID] [insert number] – This is the command formula to add items to your inventory based on the quantity indicated. This will work for any item, as long as you know the item ID. For exmaple:
coc qasmoke – This will transport you to room full of boxes with all items from the game. There’s also Power Armor and workbenches here. What you can do here is click on an item with the console open and it will give you its ID. With that ID you can use it for other console commands, such as the one above. Note: you can’t actually teleport back out of this room, so make sure you save before using it. Here’s a video of the room, via Furious FX.
set timescale to [insert number] – Speed up or slow down time. The game defaults to 16, with real-time being 1. Negative numbers slow down time.
tdetect – AI will no longer detect you. great for pickpocketing items. player.modav [skill] [number] – This increases your skill by the indicated number. You can boost all your SPECIAL skills to 10 with this. player.setlevel [insert number] – Level-up to the number indicated. caqs – This command completes the main story quest line. Don’t use it unless you want to spoil the whole game. Good if you’ve already completed the quest and want to try a new character.
Fallout 4 is a huge fan of character customization. You can change up from hair to lips. Heck, even jowls can be modified. But what about after you spend time out in the Wasteland with your character? What if you want their appearance to change in accordance with what they’ve experienced? Or maybe you just plain ol’ are sick of seeing the face you originally made.
Luckily, just as there is a barber available, there is also a plastic surgeon in Diamond City. Head on over there and look to the right of the center noodle shop. Pay a visit to Doctor Sun. No, you’re not going to ask him to cure your rad poisoning; instead, inquire about facial reconstruction. He will then point you to the red door right next to his shack. Go in and down the stairs will be Doctor Crocker who specializes in changing your face.
There you have it! Look brand new thanks to this doc.
Fallout 4
A lot is still the same as in Fallout New Vegas. But some minor changes in commands in Fallout 4:
To Open the Console press the ~ symbol under the Escape key. For other language keyboards just set your keyboard to EN-US and press the button under the ESC key. OR dont change your keyboard language and use trial and error to find the right key. Enter to confirm cheats.
Fallout 4 Command / Cheat Console Commands
player.modav strength # = set stat for strenght, endurance, intelligence, luck, perception, agility and charisma to number # [perk cheat code unknown] = use Cheat Engine to hack perk points for now (watch video below) tgm = god mode / unlimited health player.additem 000000f 999999 = infinite bottle caps player.additem 000000a 999999 = unlimited bobby pins unlock = still unlocks object (doors, consoles) kill = still kills object movetoqt = move to quest tracker advlevel = level up resurrect = resurrect selected character tmm1 = reveals the whole map player.srm = seems to work and fixes all items? player.setlevel # = set your level to # only works for leveling up player.modav carryweight 999 = carry unlimited weight (its permanent! yaay) player.additem item # 0 = The good old item cheat still works (list of items will follow below To steal any item you see on a character (guns, armor ect) use player.showinventory to get the item IDs in the selected characters inventory, then use player.additem to add the item to you. You can also use player.removeitem to take it away from them. Perfect for modifying companion armor.
Cheats like 'kill', 'unlock', 'resurrect' ect will require you to select an object or character with your mouse in the cheat console.
These are the most important ones. will update, once i find more. But pretty much Fallout 4 uses the same cheat / console codes as previous games did.
How to hack Values in Fallout 4 without the Console Commands
Now if you don’t have a console command in order to change a certain value you would like to change, you can follow this short Tutorial in order to change values like perk points and so on. You will need Cheat Engine to follow this so get it ready.
How to do it
1. Get and install Cheat Engine 2. Click the PC icon and connect to Fallout 4 game process 3. Scan for your value you want to change. Keep in mind you need around 6 of the value you want to change (especially for perk / skill points) Scan for ALL values preferably to get the most reliable results. 4. Change the value in game and scan again using next scan after changing to the updated value 5. Repeat this process until you are left with 20 values or less 6. Change or freeze the values and you got yourself unlimited skill points ect
Fallout 4 Values
Skill / Perk Points = Scan for ALL values. You need at least 5 to find the 16 corresponding values. Change them all to get unlimited skill points.
Other than that everything should be changeable through the in game console. And there should be a command console command for skill points as well, but it has not been found yet sadly.
Change Player/NPC/Companion Sex, Appearance and Clothes
changesex will change player gender. You can then use showlooksmenu player to edit your own looks. Or you can click an NPC or companion, then use showlooksmenu <ID> to edit their appearance. You can then give them an item you want then to wear, use showinventory to extract the Item ID and then use equipitem <ID> on selected character to have them equip it. You can also use the commands unequipitem <ID> to unequip unwanted items on companions, NPCs ect and <ID>.additem <ID> for adding items to NPCs you can’t trade with. I did this Piper as an example and kind of revived my game waifu as Piper, which you can romance. So you can basically have a romance and stay faithful to your game wife^^
Now this is in no way easy to understand, but if you love fallout games and love to mess with our companions and customize them, then you will learn it. Just read through it a few times and experiment, you will figure it out.
Unlimited Building Resources for Huge Settlements
If you are looking to build huge settlements, then the “tgm” is the cheat you will want to use. It will basically set all of your building resources to 999. However, this also includes Bottle Caps, so if you want to build those huge 1500 cap stores, you will need to again use Cheat Engine to hack that value or simply make the caps in legit ways. Settlements will still take ages to grow, but they eventually will. If you want to speed up the rate at which your settlements grow, use the Cheat Engine Speed hack that we describe here. Resting or sleeping does not seem to do the trick.
Item ID List for player.additem x #

Fallout 4 mods
If you really want to change your game, check out our guide to the best Fallout 4 mods.
You summon any item or NPC from thin air, or make yourself immortal with a few Fallout 4 console commands and cheats. By pressing the tilde key (~), you can unlock the console, a gateway that lets you give yourself superpowers, spawn weapons and monsters, change your stats and attributes, speed up time, and complete the game with one tap of the Enter key.
Simply activate the console in-game, type the command you want, press enter and then close the console again and watch your command take effect. If the tilde button (left of the 1 key) doesn't work, try the apostrophe key. It seems to vary depending on the nationality of your keyboard settings.
Fallout 4 cheats and console commands
tgm — Good old god mode.
tcl — No collision. Walk through walls. Walk into the sky. Be free.
tfc — Activates free camera.
tfc 1 — Same as above, but freezes all animations. Great for screenshots.
tm — Toggles menus and UI on and off. It even stops you from seeing the console, so you'll have to press tilde and type tm again blind to get the UI back.
csb -- Resets blood and damage effects.
fov [first-person FOV] [third-person FOV] — Change the FOV.
set timescale to [insert number here] — Speeds up or slows down time. The default setting is 16. 1 is realtime, 10,000 is crazy spectacular timelapse. Be sure to look when time's on fast forward because the sun and the moon actually bounce across the sky.
coc [cell id] – Teleports the player to an area.
Finding item and NPC IDs
For a lot of these commands, you'll need to know how to get the IDs of items, NPCs, as well as the names of locations and factions. With the console open, clicking on a character or item will show its ID. Additionally, many commands act on the targeted character—so, whoever you clicked on. Sometimes it can be tricky to get the right ID to pop up (it's easy to select yourself accidentally), so using free cam (tfc) can help. You can also look up commands and IDs..
help [item name] [0-4] — Searches items, characters, commands, and more. Use Page Up and Page Down to scroll. 0 searches for everything.
Fallout 4 Mods To Change Npc Appearance
coc qasmoke — This teleports you to a room with a number of boxes that contain every single item in the game. Surreal, but a good way to find item IDs. You can find an item ID by entering the console and clicking on the item in the game world with your mouse. It turns out that Dogmeat's real name is 0001d162.
How to change your character with Fallout 4 console commands
showlooksmenu player 1 — Reopens the character customization menu so you can change your look. You'll want to have your character's face centered on screen for this one.
player.setrace [race id] — Change your race (e.g. ghoul, mutant). Find race IDs with the help function, but beware of adverse side effects (most races just make it crash).
player.resethealth — Resets your health.
setgs fJumpHeightMin [insert number here] — Modifies your jump. Set it really high to vault over buildings like the Incredible Hulk. Warning, if you don't turn on god mode, the falling damage from your own jump will kill you.
tdetect — The AI won't detect you anymore. Steal to your heart's content.
player.modav [skill] [number] — Boost a skill by a numerical amount of your choosing. Eg. player.modav strength 10 will boost your strength by ten points. If there's a terminal you'd love to hack or an NPC you'd love to persuade, use this. However, if you want to unlock perks, use the next command.
player.setav [character variable] [number] — Sets a character trait to a new value. Unlike modav, this will unlock perks when you change your stats.
player.setav speedmult [insert number here] — The number you type in adds multiplier to your running speed, with hilarious consequences. Use in combination with god mode and the next command to go full superhero.
player.setlevel [insert number] — Boost your level to the number specified.
player/additem 0000000f [insert number here] — Adds bottlecaps equal to the number you specify.
player/additem 0000000a [insert number here] — Adds bobbypins equal to the number you specify.
player.additem [item ID] [number] — You may have noticed a pattern in the last two commands. Yes, you can add ANY item to your inventory this way as long as you know the item ID (see above for instructions for finding IDs).
How to manipulate NPCs with Fallout 4 console commands
tai — Turns AI off and causes everyone to stand still with a vacant look on their face.
tcai — Turns combat AI off. Brings peace to the world. Boring, boring peace.
killall — Kills everyone in the vicinity, apart from companions and any other characters deemed too vital to die. In that case they will slump down injured until you give them a stimpack.
kill [insert ID] — Kills the creature with the ID you supply. Type kill (0017fda3) now and wherever they are, the feral ghoul I tested this on will drop dead. Alternatively, click on an NPC with the console open and just type 'kill.'
resurrect [insert ID] — Brings the creature with the ID you supply back to life. Type resurrect (0017fda3) to bring the feral ghoul I tested this on back to life! He's having a torrid day. Alternatively, select a dead NPC with the console open and just type 'resurrect.' If you resurrect a headless NPC, be aware that they're going to remain headless. Farming simulator 17 biggest map ever.
recycleactor — Resets a character.
setscale [number from 1 to 10] — Makes you or your target HUGE. See the results in the picture at the top of the article.
sexchange — You'll never guess. Works on whoever is selected, though it may not have good results with unique characters.
getav CA_affinity — Get the affinity level of your current companion.
setav CA_affinity [number] — Sets your companion's affinity level to a number.
modav CA_affinity [number] – Adds a number to your companion's affinity level. Haven't noticed an effect.
unequipall — Unequip all items from the selected NPC.
How to change factions with Fallout 4 console commands
player.AddToFaction [faction id] [0 or 1] — Become allied with a faction. Alternatively, remove the 'player' prefix and this will affect the targeted NPC. 0 is friendly, 1 is allied.
player.RemoveFromFaction [faction id] — Remove yourself from a faction. Alternatively, remove the 'player' prefix and this will affect the targeted NPC.
removefromallfactions — Removes the target from all factions.
setally [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1] — Make two factions friendly (0) or allied (1).
setenemy [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1] —Make two factions neutral (0) or enemies (1).
How to complete the game with Fallout 4 console commands
completeallobjectives [Quest ID] — Complete all current objectives in a quest.
resetquest [Quest ID] – Reset a quest.
completequest [Quest ID] — Complete a quest.
caqs — This completes every step of the primary quest, effectively completing the game for you. WARNING: Don't use it if you want to avoid spoiling the entire game for yourself.
I’ve been using this for a few days, and i’ve met a few of the followers, and thus far, Zora is my favorite. However, i’d like to change her appearance a bit. Not her scars or facepaint, but her eyes, they seem a bit “squinty” and small to me. I started by using the ck to change her appearance, then save it as a separate esp file, but no changes were in the game. I then reloaded the ck and my patch, and tried to ctrl+f4 to export her data, but again, nothing was visible in the game. So, mildly irritated, i changed the 3DNPC.esp file directly, editing dear Zora and saving the file, and still no changes are showing up in the game. I restored the original esp, as i’d really rather have a patch and not edit the original file.
What am i missing? How are we to change an npc’s appearance? I don’t recall the Oblivion CK being this obtuse about changing things.
Advertisements
Did you esm-ify the 3DNPC esp first? Only way the changes will stick if you’re making a patch. Idk why direct editing didn’t work, that’s odd.
and espify it before playing otherwise you might crash.
